Lucknow, Aug 20 (IANS) Nearly 68 kg of ancient silver coins dating back to 1861 and 1892 were recovered from three men who were arrested in Uttar Pradesh’s Varanasi district, police said Thursday.How can this hoard date back to 1861 and 1892? Shouldn't it be one or the other?

The short article doesn't provide much, but I would expect that the two dates are meant to represent the range of the coins in the group. Often times media reports, especially foreign media reports that are written in English, confuse the information they get from experts and so perhaps they simply phrased it in this awkward fashion (to us)which a non-specialist might use.
It is also funny they use the word "ancient" for the 19th century, but then again many foreign languages don't really distinguish between "ancient" and "antique" the way English does. It is symptomatic of Bulgarian news reports on looting and smuggling, for example, that they refer to ancient materials as "antiques" or "antique" rather than "antiquities" or "ancient."
